With the economic news getting worse every day, job security is a concern for everyone. More than ever, computing professionals must ensure that they have solid skills and cutting-edge knowledge to deal with the rapidly changing environment.

As a computing professional in the Washington, D.C. area, you may be interested to know that the Washington, D.C. chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery (DC ACM) will be holding Professional Development Seminars at George Washington University March 16-18, 2009.

The proceeds of these seminars are used to support DC ACM, a nonprofit organization that has been dedicated since 1958 to providing opportunities (including life-long learning, career development, and professional networking) for meaningful connections between the area’s academics, professionals, and policymakers in the computer science and information technology fields. Therefore you can enhance your technical and/or management abilities while at the same time help DC ACM continue to serve the local computing community.

The classes are organized into five thematic "tracks." Full-day seminars are $600, and half-day seminars are $300. DC ACM members are eligible for a 5% discount, and if you register before March 1, you can get an additional 10% early bird discount. We also have a special rate for full-time students. Registration is being conducted online, and payment is accepted by both check and credit card. The seminars are briefly listed below. For the schedule and detailed seminar descriptions, please visit our website or download the PDF brochure.
